The largest real estate investment club at harvard
Founded in 2018, HUREIG is committed to maintaining its role as the premier space for real estate on Harvard University’s campus. Through The Development, we teach members the fundamentals of the real estate industry and property valuation. The Investment Group, founded in 2022, gives more experienced members an opportunity to create investment and development pitches supported with quantitative and qualitative analysis. We welcome experts in the real estate field through our Speaker Series to visit us and speak to the members and non-members about their experiences in real estate. HUREIG collaborates closely with leaders in the global real estate industry-including industry experts, academics, and firms-to supplement the education offered at Harvard College.
Our Comp
Our 8-week comp is designed to introduce you to the world of real estate investment. Throughout the comp, you are expected to attend weekly lectures covering essential topics in real estate, engage in personalized coffee chats with our board members, and develop a case study project at the comps conclusion. The project will consist of a potential investment opportunity based on a given set of assumptions. Your job will be to form a group and build a cash flow model analyzing the potential investment. Your group will then pitch this deal to a panel of professional investors who will join us at the conclusion of the comp. This is a unique opportunity to deepen your knowledge of the commercial real estate industry, expand your network, and enhance your financial modeling skills.
Upon completion of the comp, you will gain exclusive access to career and deal resources, financial models, and networking events. Additionally, you will be added to our dedicated alumni board list, providing direct access to a network of industry professionals, mentorship opportunities, and exclusive events to support your career development in real estate. You'll also have the chance to join one of our case teams, where you can apply your skills in real-world scenarios by underwriting actual deals for companies we partner with.
